aThe Social Security Administration released the federal benefit rate for the 2013 Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits as follows:
- The benefit amount for an individual SSI recipient in 2013 is $710 per month (an increase from $698/mo. in 2012). The benefit amount for a couple who are both receiving SSI in 2013 is $1,066 per month (an increase from $1,048/mo. in 2012).
- The SSI allowable resource limit remains the same, at $2,000 for an individual and $3,000 for a couple who are both receiving SSI benefits.
- The 2013 Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) limit is $1,040.00 for a disabled recipient and 1,740.00 for an SSSI recipient who is blind.

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Spousal Impoverishment Standards and Home Equity Standards for 2013 as follows:
- The new minimum Community Spouse Resource Allowance (CSRA) is $23,184.00. The new maximum CSRA is $115,920.00.
- The new Minimum Monthly Maintenance Needs Allowance is $1,891.25, and the new maximum MMMNA is $2,898.00 until July 1, 2013 (for all States except Alaska and Hawaii).
- The new Community Spouse Monthly Housing Allowance is $567.38 (for all States except Alaska and Hawaii).
- The new minimum Home Equity Limits is $536,000.00, and the new maximum limit is $802,000.00.
