About Our Blog

Our blog is designed to help the elderly, the disabled and their families, and families in conflict plan for and manage legal and financial challenges.

Welcome to our blog – the blog designed to help the elderly, the disabled and their families, and families in conflict plan for and manage the legal and financial challenges in their lives.

In our blog, we strive to explain the complex and confusing health care system; estate, trust and gift tax laws; public benefits laws; special needs planning issues; and court procedures involving the elderly, the disabled and their loved ones. We also blog about various dispute resolution methods, including litigation; estate, probate and elder mediation; divorce mediation; and collaborative family law services. Through this blog, we strive to advance the mission of our law firm: to help seniors, the disabled and their families and families in conflict by providing practical information that is also thought-provoking.

The authors of this blog have attempted to select topics from a variety of sources in order to provide a wide range of information to our readers. We provide information about topics that are sometimes troubling (see 8/13/08 post: “According To The Wall Street Journal, Nursing Homes Are Forcing Out Frail And Ill Residents In An Effort To Replace Them With Shorter-Term Residents Likely To Bring More Revenue”); sometimes optimistic (see 12/3/08 post: “A Housing Solution for the Developmentally Disabled in New Jersey?”); sometimes just plain amusing (see 1/13/09 post: “Law Is Far From The Worst Profession; Lawyers Rank Substantially Higher Than Nuclear Decontamination Technicians”); and always worthy of a read.

Our blog is an effort to help our clients and other readers understand the legal issues and life decisions that older adults, the disabled and their loved ones, and families in conflict must address.

Welcome. We hope you find our blog and website interesting and useful. And please, feel free to post a comment: your thoughts may provide welcome insight into this area of laws.
