OPEN FOR BUSINESS – AND HERE TO HELP
To our clients, families and friends:
We are working hard to continue serving you during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
It may seem that our world is changing every day, as new information becomes available about the Coronavirus threat. It is important to remember that this situation, although difficult, is temporary. And during this period of uncertainty, please know that our firm is here to help.
On March 21, 2020, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy issued Executive Order 107 as part of a plan to “mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and protect the capacity of New Jersey’s health care system for the state’s most vulnerable.” This “Stay at Home” Order directs the closure of all “non-essential” businesses. Businesses classified as “essential” (supermarkets, pharmacies, construction, etc.) may remain open. The Executive Order allows law firms to operate with limited in-office operations.
As a result, our law firm will remain open for business, while we take steps to protect both our clients and our staff. Several staff members are working remotely, while others remain at our Westfield, New Jersey office. During this time period, all client conferences will be conducted via telephone, FaceTime, Zoom or other similar video-conferencing method. Client questionnaires, estate documents, court pleadings and other papers can be exchanged via email or facsimile, and court fees and other payments can be made via credit card remotely.
And as new legislation is being contemplated in reaction to COVID-19, we remain poised to respond to best serve your needs.
Please visit our blog for important legal updates.
During this difficult time when many of you are working from home, we encourage you to prepare or update your basic estate documents such as a Last Will and Testament, Power of Attorney, and Advance Medical Directive, or to plan for the needs of a disabled loved one. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to pick up the phone and call! This may be an ideal time to consider spending a portion of your new-found availability to confront these usually difficult tasks. Thanks to our firm’s flexible communication options now in place, we can help you accomplish these tasks without ever leaving your home.
Again, we are taking every precaution to minimize personal contact and protect our vulnerable populations. As Elder Law attorneys, our first goal will always be to protect our clients, as well as the larger senior and disabled populations. We appreciate your confidence in us, and we look forward to speaking with you.
Please visit the CDC website for Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates and guidelines.
