Improved Veterans Pension Rates For 2013

Following are the increased rates paid by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)  beginning in 2013 for Base Pension benefits, with Housebound and Aid and Attendance supplements. The higher rates include a 1.7% cost of living increase.

For the Veteran

Monthly VA Base Pension Benefits:

  • Without Dependents: $1,037
  • With One Dependent: $1,359

Monthly Housebound Benefits:

  • Without Dependents: $1,259
  • With One Dependent: $1,570

Monthly Aid and Attendance Benefits:

  • Without Dependents: $1,731
  • With One Dependent: $2,053

For the Widow/Widower

Monthly VA Base Pension Benefits:

  • Without Dependents: $695
  • With One Dependent: $911

Monthly Housebound Benefits:

  • Without Dependents: $851
  • With One Dependent: $1,110

Monthly Aid and Attendance Benefits:

  • Without Dependents: $1,112
  • With One Dependent: $1,327

Two Veterans Married To Each Other

  • Both Veterans Receiving Monthly VA Base Pension Benefits: $1,359
  • Either Veteran Receiving Monthly Housebound Benefits: $1,590
  • Both Veterans Receiving Monthly Housebound Benefits: $2,049
  • Either Veteran Receiving Monthly Aid and Attendance Benefits: $2,053
  • Both Veterans Receiving Monthly Aid and Attendance Benefits: $2,675
  • One Veteran Receiving Monthly Housebound Benefits and One Veteran Receiving Monthly Aid and Attendance Benefits: $2,284

For Each Additional Child, Add $176 To The Above Rates
