Chen Li has been associated with the Law Office of Donald Vanarelli since 2007.  Chen was born in Shanghai, China.  After completing high school in China, she immigrated to New York in the late 80’s.  Chen earned a B.A. from Queens College, City University of New York, Flushing, New York.  She obtained her J.D. from St. John’s Law School, Jamaica, New York.  Chen has been an attorney since 2002.  She is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey. She has been practicing in the areas of Wills, Trusts, Estates, Elder Law and Special Needs Law since 2002.

Before becoming an attorney, Chen worked for Ernst and Young, LLP and Dreyfus Realty Advisors, in New York City.  She is also a Certified Public Accountant.

As a first generation immigrant, Chen understands the frustration of a new immigrant who lacks the language skill, background and knowledge of the U.S. law and American culture. She also understands and appreciates Asian culture.  Chen has represented Asian and non-Asian clients domestically and internationally with their Trust and Estate problems, Elder Law and Tax issues.  Chen can help clients of Asian background resolve legal problems utilizing her personal experience as a Chinese immigrant who attended college and law school in the U.S.

Chen will be posting blogs in the areas of Trust and Estate, Elder Law, and Tax Law on a regular basis, in both Chinese and English.  If you have any particular questions, please call Chen at 908-232-7400, or email her at [email protected]. Chen speaks and writes in fluent Chinese.
