From “60 Minutes:” Following A Couple From Diagnosis To The Final Stages Of Alzheimer’s Disease

Almost every year for the past 10 years, since 2008, reporters from the “60 Minutes” television show interviewed Mike and Carol Daly. Mike and Carol have been married for 54 years. Carol was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, and Mike is her full-time caregiver husband. Laughter, love and duty still hold the couple together as Carol’s world shrinks and Mike’s burden grows. After a decade, the disease has had a devastating impact on each of them. Even though their story is intensely personal, Mike and Carol wanted viewers to see the devastating impact of Alzheimer’s Disease on each of them, over a decade.
